Phenomenal pastries. However our favourite was not the cinnamon bun or the other popular pastries people come here for but rather the croissant sandwich with cream cheese, salmon, greens and pickled onion/raddish. It was DIVINE. We literally had 2 in a row. When I’m in Stockholm again I will definitely be back. Also could someone please tell me if it was pickled onion or pickled radish? I’m trying to recreate it at home haha! That being said I wouldn’t get the drinks again though 🫪

The outdoor seating area is spacious, lively, and perfectly located by the waterfront, making it an ideal place to relax with a coffee or tea while soaking up the sun. The pastries were outstanding: fresh, beautifully made, and full of flavor. I especially loved the cardamom bun with seeds and nuts on top, which paired perfectly with a cup of tea. Whether you’re looking for a traditional Swedish fika, a quick break after exploring the city, or simply a place to enjoy the beautiful weather, this café is absolutely worth a visit.

Visited Skeppsbro Bageri on the morning of May 2. The lady at the counter was surprisingly warm and friendly which gave a really nice first impression. I actually went there specifically to try their räkmacka, only to find out it’s available only during lunch hours. While getting utensils, I noticed the fork wasn’t perfectly cleaned. I tried calling the attention of one of the staff members arranging coffee cups nearby, but she completely didn’t notice me despite being just a foot away — I even called twice. Food-wise, I liked the egg croissant. The regular cinnamon pastry I got was decent but nothing particularly special for me. The ambiance was lovely with a very nice waterfront view which made the experience more relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, despite the small issues, I genuinely loved the experience and would still consider coming back.

I really enjoy coming to Skeppsbro Bageri, especially because of the location. In summer, the terrace is honestly one of the best spots for fika in Stockholm. It’s right next to the water in Gamla Stan, with beautiful sea views and such a relaxing atmosphere. Sitting there with a coffee and a pastry while watching the boats go by just feels special. In winter, I would still recommend it. Inside it’s very cozy and warm, with that typical Scandinavian bakery feeling. It’s a nice place to escape the cold and enjoy a quiet coffee break. 🥐 For me, the best pastry here is definitely the cardamom bun (kardemummabulle – around 50 SEK). It’s perfectly spiced, soft inside and slightly crisp on the outside, just the right balance of sweetness and cardamom flavor. It’s the one I keep going back for. 🥐During semla season, I also tried their semla (around 61 SEK) and it was very fluffy and delicious 🤍 Light bun, generous filling and nicely balanced a really good option if you’re visiting in winter. Overall, Skeppsbro Bageri is a great choice whether you’re looking for a scenic summer terrace by the water or a cozy winter fika spot in Gamla Stan. Good coffee, classic Swedish pastries and a beautiful setting, hard to go wrong here.
