Scandic Södra Kajen

Quite nice hotel with lots of activities for children. The only downside was that the pool is restricted for 10 years and up which was quite disappointing for my 8 year old who was really looking forward to swim in the pool. Other than that the rooms are great and the breakfast had great variety of dishes to offer.
Room was nice and clean with sea view, Silja Line was just in front of the hotel. Breakfast was good with big choise. Unfortunately swimmingpool was not included in the price as in other Scandics it is, and the price for the pool was 20e per person (a little bit e pensive).
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, specially the ample lobby area with games (ping-pong, table curling, cornhole, etc.) and lots of bean bags to sprawl and relax. They also had a room which showed cartoon movies twice a day to keep kids entertained. The staff was very friendly and accommodating of our requests. The beds were on the narrow side and the room was only cleaned upon request, but this did not bother me. The location could also be improved, specially since there was construction going on outside starting early morning. However, there was a large supermarket just one block away and lots of electric bikes/scooters that you could rent with different apps.
No problems. Missing fridge in rooms. Need to book breakfast time. Public parking is 130 any day with Parkster app. While Tax zone 3 nearby is free on public holidays. Family rooms for 4, has no view to harbor but to inside of the building.
We stayed here over New Year’s for one night before taking the ferry. The hotel was very convenient for our plans, and my kids loved their beds. There is a supermarket nearby, but few options within walking distance for entertainment or lunch. The restaurant and sky bar had limited hours and were closed each time we tried, though snacks are available in the lobby. Breakfast offered a good variety of local and international options and was a nice way to start the day. Staff were fine, nothing remarkable. I’d recommend this hotel for a very short stay, but not as a base if you want to explore Stockholm and stay in the city center.
