We visited Pharmarium for cocktails during an evening in Gamla Stan, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our night in Stockholm. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a place with excellent cocktails, a unique atmosphere, and a relaxed setting where you can actually have a conversation. The first thing that stood out was the beautiful interior design. The bar has a distinctive botanical theme with herbs, greenery, and plants throughout the space, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere. The décor feels carefully designed and fits perfectly with the historic character of Gamla Stan. We really enjoyed spending time there, and the ambiance alone makes it worth a visit. Although we didn’t have a reservation, the staff were incredibly helpful, polite, and accommodating. Despite it being a busy evening, they found us seats at the bar, which we really appreciated. The service was friendly from start to finish, and the bartenders were professional and welcoming. The cocktails were excellent, and what I particularly liked was that each drink was served in its own unique style. It wasn’t just about the taste about presentation and taste . The cocktails were priced at around 195 SEK, which seemed reasonable for a high-quality cocktail bar in the heart of Gamla Stan. From my experience, that appears to be the typical price range for similar cocktail bars in the area. We arrived quite late, around 11:00 PM, so the only snack still available was potato chips. That was perfectly fine for us since we were mainly there for the drinks, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re planning to have food with your cocktails. the noise level remained moderate, making it easy for us to talk throughout the evening. As a couple, we appreciated that we didn’t have to raise our voices just to have a conversation, which is often the case in many cocktail bars. The location is also fantastic, right in the center of Gamla Stan, surrounded by one of Stockholm’s most beautiful historic areas. Sitting there before or after a walk through the old town makes for a great evening. My only recommendation is to reserve a table if you’re planning to visit on a weekend, as it can get quite I would definitely come back and highly recommend it.
The outdoor seating, across from the Nobel Prize Museum is an ideal place to watch people. If you like the theater, live entertainment, people watching is fun. The cocktail menu is fascinating, I had two magical drinks. Vhuntermassage LLC
Amazing cocktails, exceptional service. I asked for an advice and with that I got a story as well. Managed to talk a bit with bartender (yay 🎉 you always learn something new), all the staff that day were very knowledgeable. Must go cocktail bar.
We visited Pharmarium during our trip to Stockholm and really enjoyed the experience. The bar has a very unique atmosphere with its old apothecary theme, which makes the place feel special and different from typical cocktail bars. The cocktails are creative, beautifully presented, and the flavors are excellent. We tried Völuspá, Näcken, Eternal Lady, and Tomtar på Loftet. Tomtar was not really our favorite, but the others were very tasty. The staff were friendly and the whole place has a great vibe, especially being located in Gamla Stan. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the price compared to the amount you get. The cocktails are very good, but the portions are quite small roughly around 0.1–0.2 liters for about €20. I understand that this is normal for high-end cocktail bars, but compared to similar places in other European cities it still feels quite expensive. Overall still a great place to visit for a unique cocktail experience in Stockholm.
