Great place to stat during your trip to Sweden. I had a great experience as it was my first time staying on a boat. I was actually surprised about the lower roof since I am 190cm but we quickly manage. Appart from that, the staff was really friendly and made sure to be available 24/7. Since the boat is in the fjord, we can enjoy the sunset which is a beautiful experience to witness.
The position is perfect, the view from the window is amazing. There's a common space where you can use fridge, kitchen, TV and everything you need. Bathrooms and showers are pretty clean. Also the restaurant is very good The rooms are not very well soundproofed, so you can hear a lot of outside noise (doors closing, people talking, etc.). Having to carry the key with you at all times is also somewhat inconvenient. An access code for entering the room would be much more practical and convenient.
I stayed at the Rygerfjord in early May for 5 nights. I really enjoyed my stay at this boat hostel. I stayed in a single room with two bunk beds and a desk, which was plenty of room. There are some things that I would change, but I'll start with the positives. Excellent location close to Södermalm, several grocery stores, a quick walk to the metro, and beautiful views of the lake/sea. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The kitchen was a beautiful place to eat breakfast with the morning sun, and had multiple refrigerators. The bathrooms were plentiful and so were the showers. I found the kitchen on Boat 3 slightly cramped. There are too many tables and chairs, and the counter space only allows one person to use the kitchen area at one time. The entrance door on Boat 2 should have a slow close mechanism, because drunk guests do not care if it slams. The stairs to the basement need noise dampening, again due to the ignorant guests. If you need quiet, I recommend getting a room away from the main entrances (it seems obvious in principle, but after asking the front desk for a quiet room, this was the one they assigned me so maybe I need to fight on my behalf more?). The code to Boat 3 where the guest kitchen was located only worked some of the times. Other than those things, a great stay in a great location for a great price. Thank you!
The location is great: within walking distance to Gamla Stan and all we wanted to see. The staff is extremely friendly. A huge thank you to the cleaning staff as the place is very clean and perfectly maintained. We had a great room with a view. It was also very well isolated from noise outside and very warm. A supermarket is close by and the park above the hotel is where you can experience great views of the city. We highly recommend and will come again!
