Pricey and so worth it! I discovered this place in a food tour and enjoyed it so much I had to come back before I left Stockholm to get full portions. Without a doubt, I had the best meatballs I’ve ever had there!
Incredible food hall with fresh fruits, veggies, meats and dairy items. Places to eat were in abundance! We went to Tysta Mari there for Swedish meatballs and mash - absolutely INCREDIBLE.
Östermalms Food Hall is a nice traditional food hall that’s well worth walking through if you’re in Stockholm. The focus is clearly on high-quality meat and fish rather than desserts or baked goods, giving it a more classic market feel. The selection is excellent, with plenty of specialty counters and small shops that showcase traditional Swedish produce and cuisine. Even if you’re not shopping, it’s a great place to wander and take in the atmosphere. Quietly rated: worth stopping.
Visited Östermalm Food Hall and honestly understood pretty quickly why it’s considered one of Stockholm’s must-visit food spots. The hall itself is beautiful — elegant, historic, and very polished, with that classic Scandinavian aesthetic that makes even browsing around feel enjoyable. What stood out most was the quality of the food displays: seafood, smoked fish, cheeses, cured meats, Swedish specialties… everything looked incredibly fresh and well presented. It’s a great place to try different local products in one stop, whether for a proper lunch, fika, or just wandering around with curious eyes and an empty stomach. The atmosphere feels more refined gourmet hall than chaotic local market, which can be either a pro or a con depending on what you’re looking for. Personally, I enjoyed the classy vibe and seeing locals casually having lunch at the counters. Only downside: prices are definitely on the higher side, and it can get crowded around lunchtime. But overall, it feels more like paying for both the quality and the experience. Not exactly a budget food market, but absolutely worth visiting if you appreciate good food, beautiful interiors, and Stockholm’s upscale side.
Beautiful building with a lot of high quality food choices. As soon as you enter the food hall there is a mixture of seafood and other cuisines. I saw many cheeses and good looking dishes presented at the counters. I found the prices are bit too high for my budget, but still it was worth visiting the spot and to stroll around. Also a lovely location to have a drink and a rest. No obligations to buy nor consume anything.
