A gorgeous little café/restaurant, popular with locals and doing a brisk trade for both eat-in and take away. No wonder because the food was top rate and the welcome and service friendly and warm. All good cooked fresh to order and absolutely delicious. If you're used to UK fish n chips, these are more like french fries BUT this is not a criticism, just an observation. Would go here frequently and if I was in business would try to franchise! Thanks for a lovely dinner 🫡
We were warmly welcomed by the staff. We ordered our food at the counter and it was brought to our table shortly afterward. The fish was coated in a crispy breading and was still juicy on the inside and well-seasoned. The fries looked homemade and were topped with Parmesan and onions. They were served with an incredibly delicious sauce.
I might had too high expectations for this place, it might be unwise to have high expectations to a cheap place in Stockholm. The coating of the fish was very thick and the fish inside broke easily into smaller pieces when the fork went in. The blue mussels were plain in flavors, that the seasonings didn’t really match the seafood’s original taste. The fries were a bit dry and the dipping sauce was nothing special.
Hasselsson Stockholm is widely regarded as the city's premium Fish'N'Chips provider. Naturally, as an Australian deprived of my favourite delicacy, I had to try it. Certainly, the restaurant lives up to its reputation concerning fish, which was delicate, perfectly cooked, and boasted a crispy, light batter. If I were to rate on the fish alone, I would award 5 stars. Unfortunately, the chips, which are 50% of the meal, felt like a sad, neglected afterthought. Chips that acompany fish ought to be thick, crispy, and fluffy on the inside. Hasselsson Stockholm instead offer a thin, dry, American style fry which lets down the marvelous fish. Overall a nice try from a Swedish venue which I would happily frequent if the chip situation were rectified.
Drop by this pop up restaurant for fish and chips. The place is small as expected. There are seats for around 20 - 25 people. The fish is beautifully fried and crispy and the fish is very moist and soft. The chips are thin and very crispy served with red onions and dill. The whole meal is delicious and very filling as the portion is big. I can see that this is a very popular place for lunch as people keep coming and looking for a seat. The price is very reasonable and the guys running the place are very friendly. Will definitely bring our friends here.
