I have been in many Michelin star restaurants, but this one, today… blew my mind. Absolutely everything is not only delicious but perfectly crafted and explained. Service since you enter the restaurant is top notch. You’re treated amazing. They have Denisse who spoke Spanish to me and explained every dish in detail which was a plus!!! Thanks so much. When in Stockholm, Ergo is a MUST!
We visited Ergo in Stockholm for lunch and it was one of the best dining experiences we have had in the city so far. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted at the door and invited to explore parts of the restaurant, including two of the open kitchens. Watching the chefs work up close added a unique dimension to the experience and the entire team was incredibly welcoming, consistently smiling and engaging with guests. Knowing there is also a third kitchen in the back that we did not see only added to the sense of scale and energy behind the operation, and it set the tone for what was to come. We were seated comfortably in a booth and chose the shorter tasting menu due to time constraints before an opera performance. The opening snacks were a highlight right away, especially the foie gras bite that stood out for its depth of flavor and creativity. We also opted for the wine pairing, starting with a glass of bubbles that immediately elevated the meal. Each course that followed was executed with precision, but the standout for us was the lamb dish. It was incredibly tender with a deeply flavorful sauce that made it one of the most memorable plates of the lunch, something we kept going back to in conversation even after the meal. Dessert was also thoughtfully composed, with several small components including a cake and waffles served with brown butter and vanilla custard ice cream. The textures and contrasts worked beautifully together and provided a satisfying finish without feeling heavy. The service throughout was exceptional. Our server was attentive and intuitive, water glasses were consistently refilled, and plates were cleared seamlessly by a coordinated team. One detail that particularly stood out was the level of care in the restrooms, which were continuously refreshed throughout the experience, including folded towels and meticulously maintained amenities. These small touches genuinely elevated the overall impression. Another memorable element was the cheese cart, which offered a selection of cheeses to choose from. We selected a local cheese paired with quince marmalade, which was a simple but very enjoyable addition to the meal. What truly made Ergo special, beyond the food, was the warmth of the entire team. In a fine dining and Michelin star context, this level of friendliness and openness is not always common, and it made the experience feel both refined and genuinely welcoming. Overall, we highly recommend Ergo. It is a memorable and thoughtfully executed experience that stands out in Stockholm for both its culinary quality and its exceptional hospitality.
Excellent evening at Ergo. We had one of everything on tasting menu plus wine pairings. The service was fantastic and the staff were really enthusiastic about the food and wine. Definitely worth a visit for a special evening. A special shout out to the team for seating us after I accidently mixed up my days and turned up a day early prior to booking :)
I have visited Ergo several times over the last year. Althoug it was good when it opened things have sharpened considerably. The food continues to be excellent and innovative and the service on the floor is top class with the staff mowing around in a relaxed and discreet way always at hand with a smile.
