Beautiful hotel within 20-30 minutes walk of major tourist destinations and about 7 minutes from nearest metro or tram station to take you further. It’s located in a commercial area close to luxury shops so don’t stay here if you’re looking for a “local” vibe. At checkin we were told breakfast was a highlight of the stay, the receptionist was right. Great diversity of breakfast options with the possibility of ordering (for a reasonable, but extra, fee) espresso-based drinks as the hotel provides only filtered coffee for the primarily American hotel clientele. Good wine/cocktail selection in the bar. Staff were friendly. Would stay here again.
I would give it full marks if it weren’t for the check out experience. The staff during the mid day and the evening was absolutely warm and amazing! The rooms, the food, the environment was all stellar. However checking out i received cold, dismissive and a generally unpleasant interactions from the morning front of house staff. Really changed my mood on a rather wonderful stay.
Very positive experience overall. The hotel is accommodated in an older building with lots of charm. Has both a courtyard and a terrace. Stylish rooms, heavenly bedsheets and very good breakfast!
I am modifying my review. On our second day the manager was able to move us from 515 to 510. This is on the courtyard side and was much more peaceful. We also went from one of the smallest shower rooms to one of the largest I’ve ever seen. It’s a shame we couldn’t have stayed there the previous night. If you do intend to stay, I would only do so if you can confirm you’ll get a courtyard side. I maintain the rooms themselves are all very small. Even the better proportioned one had a meter or so around the bed. The door opens outwards into the corridor because it would hit the bed otherwise. Also, the desk staff were rather cold. But maybe that’s just because we got used to staying un Sodermalm the previous five days. Much calmer and chilled put there.
Location is central, everything is close by. Easy to take public transportation and visit main attractions. Rooms are charming and clean with high ceilings. The hotel is historic with old bones but super well renovated giving you the best of both worlds. Definitely coming back!
