Scandic Sjöfartshotellet

Very basic, below average for Scandic. No AC, very poor soundproofing, loud doors, outdated bathroom and light switches only by the door. No apps or casting available on the TV. Breakfast area is small and basic, and you have to book your breakfast time in advance. No grocery stores close by, about 500-700 m to all services.
Moa at the Front Desk was so passionate and kind, you can really see that she loves her job! It‘s been a long time that I‘ve seen such a great receptionist! Thank you also to Melanie from the night, she was amazing and very helpful!
I found Scandic Sjofartshotellet on Expedia and it did not let me down. The location is perfect for exploring all of Stockholm and is right near the metro as well. Walking distance to most everything else. The room was suited well for my party of three which is what drew me to the hotel in the first place . Lovely rooftop bar with a great staff up there who took care of us on multiple days. The room was clean, the bathroom was large, and it all felt homey with electronic black out curtains. Loved it. I would stay here again and we definitely got lucky as there is lots of construction going on all around it but we had no sound worries from it all. Kudos to the hotel staff at the front desk as well.
We were very happy with our stay for the most part. The hotel is modern, well decorated and comfortable. The hotel rooms are on the small size in my opinion. Ours had an amazing balcony/ terrace with incredible views which we greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Our room, being a more expensive one, had 2 occasional chairs as well as one other chair which one would use for sitting at a table. The beds were very comfortable. I'm never comfortable with square type pillows but they were fine and squishy for the few nights we stayed. My son's room though was very tight for space and there was no chair in his which we thought odd. We lent him one of ours so he wouldn't have to lie on his bed all the time. Our room was on the floor which also contained a rooftop bar/restaurant which was the only part of the hotel open for food in the evening (April visit). The food was excellent and the staff there although busy were able to manage really well. There was some noise though audible from our room when people were passing by after being there. My son was also disturbed and kept awake by noise from outside the hotel on his side of the corridor. It may have been a nightclub in the area. I understand that this is outside the control of the hotel. Breakfast was good. My coeliac son was offered gf pancakes which he loved! This wasn't something we were aware they could do so it was a lovely surprise. From high in the hotel, especially rooftop bar, there are lovely views of the harbour. We were floor 7 (top) and our terrace had amaxing views. The hotel is a short uphill walk from Slussen (spl?) metro stop and one or two stops from Gamla Stan and the main station. Coming from Arlanda, we got the Arlanda Express to the main station, walked to the metro station and were within a few stops of Slussen. Very convenient really. There are a few restaurants in the area which we didn't get to check out on this occasion.
This is my second time staying here and I greatly enjoyed it. The location is fantastic, breakfast is good, and the staff was very kind. They also have pet friendly rooms where they provide a water bowl, treats, and poo bags. Love it.
