The service was great! i tried walking in earlier in the evening but didn't get a table, but finally got in around 9 PM. The venison tartar was super flavorful—highly recommended. The meatballs tasted really good at first, but they got saltier with every bite... The strawberry ice cream recommended by the staff was great, very well-balanced. Overall, rate it 4.5/5. Definitely recommended

The meatballs and mash were absolutely delicious. The meatballs were juicy and full of flavour, the mash was perfectly creamy, and the berries sauce brought it all together. A classic Swedish meal done really well. Definitely worth a visit!

We visited this restaurant after several recommendations calling it the place for the “best meatballs” in town - and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We came as a family with our 2-month-old daughter and immediately felt very welcome. The restaurant has a cozy, traditional atmosphere: elegant table settings, lively conversations all around, and a warm, authentic charm. The staff, dressed in classic uniforms, welcomed us kindly. The chef de service even arranged a table with a bench so we could comfortably lay down our baby and proactively brought us a blanket -!such a thoughtful gesture. The restaurant clearly has a long history and tradition. The walls are covered with fascinating paintings that make you curious to learn more about the stories behind them. It would actually be lovely to include a little background in the menu, because all those faces surely tell an incredible story. The food was outstanding. If you are open to traditional Swedish cuisine, you should definitely try the shrimp salad (which also works perfectly as a larger starter), the famous Swedish meatballs, and the Biff Rydberg. Everything was not only delicious but also served properly hot. Online reservation is highly recommended. We would return anytime.

I had asked the hotel for a recommendation for an authentic Swedish restaurant that they as locals would go to and two of the 4 people present immediately said Prinsen at the same time. The meal was exceptional from the initial rolls to the truffle for dessert. Their Toast Skagen was one of the absolute best I have had on all my trips to Sweden. I had duck for the main course and it was cooked perfectly, tender, juicy, and in a sauce that made me glad I had a roll left to soak up every last bit. I will come back here on subsequent trips.

This was the first place to try actual Swedish meatball. I thought it was horrible, it was really dense and not juicy at all. Luckily I got to try better meatballs during my trip. We sat outside because they said they couldn't accommodate having a stroller which is fine since it wasn't that cold and we were under heater lamps. The problem is when I went in to use the restrooms, I notice they had plenty of empty seats and ample space, soooooo why so rude about letting us in with a stroller. (We had a sleeping baby.) The food was alright. For apps, we got the toast skagen which others thought was amazing but I thought it tasted fishy and iron-y. Then the chanterelles toast was really nice and had plenty of chanterelles. They gave us free rolls and I enjoyed the presentation and the butter was also really good. I had the potato dumpling stuffed with mushroom that came with more chanterelles and crunchy nuts, root celery and pumpkin pieces. Next was the arctic char which I was told was good but I forgot photo of. Next is the venison with the wild boar sausage and that person said war delicious. I had a tiny piece of venison which I'm not a fan of but tasted fine. And finally the duck, which was soft and not as gamey as expected. Overall good was pretty good but service was annoying since they wouldn't seat us with a sleeping baby in a stroller and it was just a nice dinner.
