Description
Head into Nordiska Museet to become immersed in the daily lives of people in Sweden and the Nordic countries. Explore the different local lifestyles from the present day and all the way back to the 16th century.
The introduction (15 minutes) is given in English and is a perfect start to your museum visit, telling the fascinating history of the museum. You will meet the tour guide in the Great Hall. The tour ends in the new event room Sofi's Salon, previously closed for visitors, but now open for conferences, meetings and mingle events.
After the introduction tour, you explore the many exhibitions on your own, for example the Nordic Life exhibition where you see how culture and life in the Nordic region have been shaped and reshaped through interactions between people, nature, and climate.
Also access for example: The Arctic - while the ice is melting, Table Settings - feasts from five centuries, Nordic Moments - explore the museum's vast photo collection, The 1940s Flat - a home from 1947 and Dollhouses - eight homes in miniature.
Audio guide available in Swedish and English in all exhibitions.
