Highly recommend. Just go with whatever Linda recommends. You won’t be disappointed. Espresso martinis need more foam, but no complaints otherwise
What a Gem! Best location possible for Vaxholm and Ferry service. The hotel is very welcoming and have a nautical theme through. The rooms are very small, but super comfortable. There is plenty of room in the lounge to stretch out and have a drink rather than your room.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and unfortunately found the price-performance ratio to be far from justified. Don’t be fooled by the first impression: from the outside the hotel looks high-quality and somewhat special, and the renovated entrance area is inviting. The location right next to the ferry stop is also very convenient. However, the website unfortunately creates a much more upscale impression than what you actually find on site. Breakfast was fine, but nothing special – offering a mix of sweet and savoury options. However, only filter coffee was available. Unfortunately, the negative aspects clearly outweighed the positives for us. During our entire stay, there were construction works directly on the corridor in front of the rooms on our floor. We were not informed about this in advance. Since the hotel appeared to be almost empty, it would have been easily possible to assign us a different room. The room itself was extremely noisy, with very thin walls – conversations, hallway noise, and other guests were clearly audible. In addition, the room was ice cold. The heating did not work, although we were initially told we were using it incorrectly. Even after staff checked it, the issue remained unresolved and we were eventually given an electric heater. This still raises the question of why guests are checked into a room in such a condition in the first place. The windows were also poorly sealed, causing constant draughts, and during stronger wind the window whistled so loudly throughout the night that it was almost impossible to sleep. We were constantly freezing during our stay – a cold really followed us afterwards. The receptionist did apologise, but overall we did not get the impression that our concerns were taken seriously or that any real effort was made to find a proper solution. The interior is generally quite outdated. The bed, bedding, and towels were clean and the bed itself was comfortable – one of the few positives. However, the rest of the furniture felt old, worn, partly damaged, and not well maintained. The hairdryer in particular was very dirty. The bathroom is small but sufficient for a short stay. However, several issues were present: the water temperature was difficult to regulate, the shower head was dirty, rusty, and damaged, and the toilet seat was broken and clearly too small for the ceramic base. After showering, nearly the entire bathroom was regularly flooded. Overall, unfortunately a very disappointing experience and absolutely not recommended for the price charged.
Had a really great experience here. After an issue with my original room, was upgraded to a suite which was stunning. The manager went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Also, the restaurant had incredible food. What a gem.
