The Royal Dramatic Theatre, commonly known as Dramaten was founded in 1788 and it is Sweden’s National Theatre.
It has been located in the Art Noveau building since 1908, and the architect who built it was Fredrik Lilljekvist. With an assignment from the Swedish government the theatre perform classical theatre, newly written Swedish and international theatre, and theatre for children and youth.
It has 8 different stages, which toghether shows about a thousand shows every year.
