And if you are into spirits, Stockholm's artisanal aquavit tastings are worth hunting down, especially in winter when a well-made snaps feels just right.

Don’t overlook smaller venues , many family-owned places host intimate tastings that don’t flood with tourists. For example, the cheese tastings below the city in the Östermalm Market feel less like an event and more like discovering a secret. Just a heads-up: booking in advance is often a good idea, especially on weekends. And if you’re around in early spring, you might catch some special tastings of freshly harvested honeys or new season berries at local food markets.
